Put a little STAR into your life!

LOVE AT FIRST SNUGGLE!

EXCITING NEWS
I am proud to announce that through the combined efforts of myself and co-breeder, we have made great strides towards eliminating the dreaded gene, which causes Juvenile Renal Dysplasia (JRD) which afflicts around 97% of the total breed population. JRD affects puppies and causes premature death in many. Great dilligence, patience, time, and money (and a touch of luck) has guided us in the right direction. Clear Shih Tzu breeding stock is anticipated in the near future.
ABOUT THE BREEDER
The first 25 years of my life were spent in Germany, before moving to the States in 1965. My father, a Zoologist, started to teach me from a very young age on about many facets of animal life and since then my love and interest in all creatures has never stopped. My career was in Chemistry, from which I retired 16 years ago. At that time, my daughter introduced me to my first Shih Tzu and I was hooked on the breed. From then on my dedication to the breed became the focus of my life.

Luck was with me to have had the late Helen Mueller from Rockee Vollee Shih Tzu and Betty Meidlinger from Mei-San Shih Tzu as my mentors.

I have been breeding Shih Tzu sucessfully since 1991 as a "Hobby Breeder". My adult breeding stock are also my pets, therefore I kept the numbers small so I can pay individual attention to all of them. My Shih Tzu are not housed in kennels, they have the run of my place and the yard at their convenience.

My Champion Stud (Ch. Ningsia Starrme Victory By Design) finished at 11 months and has proven himself as an excellent sire. Other champion studs from reputable breeders are also available to me. Generally I breed no more than three litters per year.

New developments of Shih Tzu breeding, especially in health and behavioral methods, are followed by me on a regular basis to keep the edge on my breeding program which result in healthier and well-adjusted dogs. My special interest lies in helping with the elimination of the genetic disease of Juvenile Renal Failure (JRD) in the Shih Tzu breed through consciencious DNA testing and selective breeding.

The puppies are handled from DOB every day which facilitates easy transition from my home to the new owners environment. Buyers are encouraged to visit me before the puppy purchase to get to know the litter and the parents, which also gives me the chance to evaluate the future home of my Shih Tzu. I reserve the right to refuse a sale of any puppy of mine to anyone.

New owners are invited to contact me with any questions they have in regard to their puppies. My help will be available through the lifetime of the Shih Tzu. Should the buyer decide not to keep the dog, I am to be contacted as the first resource. Recommendations of satisfied customers are available upon request.

I am a member of good standing with the American Shih Tzu Club (ASTC), Twin City Area Shih Tzu club (TCASTC), and a member of the AKC Coulee Region Kennel Club.
