WELCOME TO STARRME SHIH TZU
Put a little STAR into your life!

SHIH TZU PUPS = UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!

ABOUT THE BREEDER

I have been breeding Shih Tzu successfully since 1991 as a hobby breeder.
My teachers were the late Helen Mueller of Rockee Vollee Shih Tzu and Betty Meidlinger of Mei-San Shih Tzu. I could not have wished for better tutelage.

My Shih Tzu breeding stock are my pets. I keep the numbers low, so I can pay individual attention to all of them. They have the freedom to come into the house or play in the yard at their leisure.

I was located, until February 2009 in La Crosse, Wisconsin and have since relocated to Escondido, California, San Diego area..

My stud Mei-San Chunky Monkey, aka. Monty come from champion lines and I have access to other champions from reputable ASTC  breeder friends.

Mei Sans Chunky Monkey, Monty,(pointed) is an excellent stud, which passes on his great conformation especially his beautiful head, his laid back attitude and sweet nature to his offspring.

My special interest was focused in achieving an RD (Renal Dysplasia) free breeding stock. About 75% of the Shih Tzu breed have one or two mutated RD genes, which can result in an early, devastating illness and death from puppyhood to adult age.

Through conscientious DNA testing done by Dogenes.Inc, selective breeding and considerable investment in money and time I finally can proudly state that my Shih Tzu breeding stock does not carry the mutated RD genes, all dogs are  CLEAR., thus eliminating the dreaded Renal Dysplasia.

As far as I am aware of I am the only breeder in the US who has a totally clear breeding stock of ShihTzu.

The puppies are handled from DOB every day which facilitates easy transition from my home to the new owners environment. Buyers are encouraged to visit me before the puppy purchase to get to know the litter and the parents, which also gives me the chance to evaluate the future home of my Shih Tzu. I reserve the right to refuse a sale of any puppy of mine to anyone.

New owners are invited to contact me with any questions they have in regard to their puppies. My help will be available through the lifetime of the Shih Tzu. Should the buyer decide not to keep the dog, I am to be contacted as the first resource. Recommendations of satisfied customers are available upon request.

I am a member of good standing with the American Shih Tzu Club (ASTC), Twin City Area Shih Tzu club (TCASTC), and a member of the Southern California ShihTzu Club.

MISSION STATEMENT
